Eastern Railroad Discussion > Brilliant Fall Colors on Delmarva This Year

Despite what largely became a hot and dry summer, Mother Nature did not disappoint when fall arrived. Now that winter is quickly approaching, scenes like these quickly become nothing more than a memory. The first image was taken in Clayton, DE as the DCR turn headed south. The second image highlights Norfolk Southern's K64 Turn passing through Townsend long hood forward. The third shows HA-1 heading south along McKee Road in North Dover.

Image #4 features Norfolk Southern's K64 Turn north of Clayton. Image #5 is the DCR turn heading north as the sun sets and the final shot is northbound K64 at the Clayton interchange. My only wish is that the fall season lasted a bit longer as recording scenes like these never get old.

When I see an NS 70xx locomotive from the long-hood end, I still think of the ex-Southern GP50s. They're all rebuilt or retired, of course.

All of these shots are great, especially #4! Well done.

Great fall colors in a variety of locations!  Really like #1.

Great stuff as usual Gary.  Looking forward to getting back down there in 2023.   Might have to make a winter trip if Delamrva gets some snow this winter.
 

I moved from Middletown 2 years ago to North Wilmington ..I do miss seeing my MDDE..THANK YOU
