The Reading, Blue Mountain and Northern rosters 10 end-cab switcher engines amongst its fleet, and often has one, if not two, assigned to its former Lehigh Valley yard at Pittston, PA.

I was lucky to catch two of them in action today working the interchange shuttle between Pittston and NS's Taylor Yard just outside Scranton.   In the first photo we see the 800 - a 70 year-old former Lackawanna/Erie-Lackawanna/Conrail engine, along with 45 year-old former Southern/NS 1540, pulling 38 cars south from Taylor on the former Lackawanna Bloomsburg branch.   Later, after dropping 1 car at Mariotti Lumber in Old Forge, the YJPI makes its way across Stephenson St. in Duryea just about a mile from its destination of the former Lehigh Valley Coxton Yard at Pittston.

That's a nice looking train. The sales department must be very happy with these results.

Great video.  I'm tracking to wrack my brain here and see if I can think of anywhere else you can see an endcab switcher of that age still handling heavy freight and am coming up empty.  Rare to say the least, if not something really special that's pretty much the last place to see it.
