Eastern Railroad Discussion > "In The Yard & On The Main" CSX Utica NYDate: 01/19/23 15:27 "In The Yard & On The Main" CSX Utica NY Author: ut-1 CSX interchanges with New York, Susquehanna & Western in Utica NY.
On January 18th, I videoed three CSX engines pulling seven empties out of the Utica yard. Next, the CSX freight backs up on Track 2 to connect with the rest of its train. A few hundred yards east, while the CSX/NYS&W interchange freight holds on the main, another CSX freight passes by on Track 1. Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern ALCos are seen beyond the CSX main working in their yard. Finally, the interchange freight powers up and slowly heads on its way. Any idea why the Conductor was "patting" the angle cock. I've never seen that done. Gonut Date: 01/19/23 16:06 Re: "In The Yard & On The Main" CSX Utica NY Author: ghemr Gonut1 Wrote:

Otherwise too much force at one time may dump (put the train in emergency) the air in the head-end portion of the train.
