Eastern Railroad Discussion > Signal Sunday -- Muncie, IndianaDate: 01/29/23 03:43 Signal Sunday -- Muncie, Indiana Author: KimHeusel I thought there was a chance that I posted this image before, but a search didn't yield any results. This is Muncie, Indiana, looing west on the CSX Indianapolis Line Sub on September 16, 2020. G263 is approaching in the distance. The signals on the far right are on the Norfolk Southern New Castle District, which curves to the left to cross CSX at CP 229. Beyond that is CP 230.

The two sets of diamonds on the CSX lines are both NS. A northbound train on the New Castle district can turn west over the far CP and east over the near CP. There is an NS connecting track between the two CPs. (The Frankfort Division of NS). Just to the east of this location NS makes a curve to the north then west before heading north to Fort Wayne.

IIRC, Spielberg's Close Encounters movie was written to take place in Muncie, Indiana. Victor Baird Date: 02/01/23 11:06 Re: Signal Sunday -- Muncie, Indiana Author: santafedan It wasn't even close to accurate.

You mean the perception that in the movie it was in Muncie, or that you being a science teacher, the movie was too far from the truth? Victor Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/01/23 14:57 by wabash2800. |
