CSX OCS On The Ohio River Sub
Author: Ohiorailfan

On Thursday January 19th CSX ran their OCS with all 3 F40PHs and 13 cars from Russell, KY to Huntington and then over the Ohio River Sub to New Martinsville, WV via Parkersburg, WV and then down the shortline sub to Grafton, WV. We started our chase at Ravenswood, WV and finished about 30 miles in on the Shortline Sub.

Very good series.

My only regret is not seeing this in person as I live just west of Wheeling.

What an amazing series! So CSX1 and CSX2 got stretched, CSX3 only got paint, what happened to the 4th unit?

Was the first shot done with a drone? I drive over this bridge frequently and know that there is a good amount of traffic which would make stopping for a shot problematic.

No drone, just nerves of steel. Lol

Great series full of IOTD nominations.  Best looking OCS currently rolling.

Also, it appears that CSX 3 (second out) has some sort of orangish appliqué on the front windows. At first I thought it was the angle but every image where they're visible the same orangish color can be seen. Ceramic maybe? It seems newer too; I don't recall seeing that in previous runs (when they ran in 1-2-3 order instead of 1-3-2).
