A Canadian, a Mexican and Other Stuff - Lake Erie Land

Caught some intersting action in a short time today.

1. First off, one from yesterday at Joppa Road west of town. The 10N comes around the curve at MP 226 on the Chicago Line, eastbound with assorted cars instead of pure autos. Power is NS 9634 with mis-matched number boards.

2. About 10:26 am today (Feb. 1st) Train 17Q comes west through town on Track 2 to take the connector to Bellevue. Power is NS 7691, UP 7613 and NS 5270.

3. Third unit on the 17Q is NS 5270, a GP38-2 built as Penn Central 8060 in February 1973.

4.  Even though it is rather chill and ice is forming on the river, the fishermen are out as Train 315 comes by on the NKP making the daily trek from Conneaut to Bellevue  with NS 7650 and 4058.

5. Train 32N with a high and wide up front crawls through town, caught here at Vermilion Road east of the river bridge. NS 8031 is leading a visitor from Mexico.

6. Ferromex 4065 is a rare treat !

7. & 8. - Just taking in the beast from Mexico. Lots of dirty paw prints on the hood doors.

9. Now a look at the high and wide load on TTX 130709.

Just ahead at CP 219 he'll meet the 15N.

10. & 11. So here comes 15N west with NS 9925, BNSF 5045 and CN 3187. In just a few moments in North Central Ohio we've seen a Mexican unit and a Canadian unit.

12. A closer look at CN 3187.

So four trains passed me today and there was power from NS, UP, BNSF, FXE and CN. Also there was an old timer ex Penn Central and a High & Wide.
Not a bad day in that the whole time trackside was maybe only 20 minutes.

Neat stuff.  I caught two intermodals, one being two NS ponies and a single 3 pack of well cars as wel as finding out 12 hours later the CR unit was rear nose in DPU on NS 258 this morning.

Im hoping to post the shots from last week of 12N from sandusky in a snow squall.
