I agree, but why did NS wait until now to do it?

They are definitely working to restore reputation. That aside, whether they had done it the day following the East Palestine derailment or this week, the net effect is a benefit to first responders in three states. 🤷

Really?? Have you or any industry ever looked back at a situation and realized hey we could/should do this? It’s called learning and why hindsight is always 20/20. Sometimes when step back and look back you realize hey we should have done this or that. NS has made mistakes mostly with the PR situation with this tragedy. Did you recommend this be done during your 20 year career with railroad? I would wager not.
