There's a webcam in Westfield on the same CSX line, and someone used to keep a log of the trains on the line every day, at least up through Dec 2022.  I haven't been able to find any 2023 logs, but you can peruse the late 2022 logs and gauge relative times and volumes at Pittsfield.

There's also a virtual railcam in the Springfield MA Amtrak station with coverage of P&W / G&W operations through the station

5 intermodals/day: I020, I022, I017, I019, and I115 (a combined IM and carload train)
5 carload freights/day: M424, M425, M426, M427, and M436.
2 auto rack trains: M205 & M264
Occasional grain and ethanol trains a few times/month.

The Housatonic freight should show up most days to interchange with CSX.

The Chester depot museum also has a live cam facing west.

AS mentioned plenty of webcams availble for the B&A, but you will definetly be doing some waiting to see anything, definetly the riverline in ny will be far more productive if you want to see anything

Attached is the train activity that passed the Chester & Westfield live cams per the Tuesday 3/21/23 trainlog. A few comments on this trainlog:

1. The L009 local ventures between W Springfield Yard and Pioneer Valley interchange at Westfield so you won't see it a Pittsfield
2. The M426 manifest to Waterville ME runs daily between 2200 and 0100 except when it doesn't which may be why it doesn't appear on the 3/21/23 trainlog.
3. All Ixxx intermodal trains run daily except for I019 which operates Tuesday through Saturday.

I have a 1974 Penn Central system freight schedule book...Boy times have changed, back then there were about 27 scheduled freights tht pasted between Springfield and Selkirk going to Boston , Cedar Hill, Framingham and Worcester.....not including locals... Wow....One example.  VP-2 and PV-1  Selkirk to Providence, Providence to Selkirk!!!!

VP2 and PV1 would operate Selkirk to Framingham to Mansfield and on to Providence.
