Vermilion, OH Saturday May 23, 2023 Beautiful Day, and just hanging out enjoying life and watching trains go by. 1. Up in town at Main Street the 22X rolls east with NS 9902 and 9727. 2. 22X carries UPS trailers. 3. Down at the docks the 27P is caught from the shade along the river with NS 4301 and 1103. 11. 11Q comes in on Track 2 in order to take the connector to Bellevue with NS 7643 and 4368. 12. Mid-train DPU on the 11Q is the colorful blue Conrail heritage unit. 14. Loaded coal westbound on the 572 is about to get a dectector hit for a hot wheel and have to stop. 15. Last train before heading home to dinner is the 35N with NS 9937 and 9963. Now most of the year it seems we hear him well after dark, like at 10 pm on a January night. Today he was a bit early and the sun was still casting enough light to grab a shot. 22H is a 47th St. Chicago - Harrisburg intermodal train. Lots of J.B. Hunt and EMP containers. Power was NS 9483 and 8023.
