Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS harrisburg line activityDate: 09/16/23 09:46 NS harrisburg line activity Author: Darthsimpletext Following a post from friday or thursday regarding 268 getting stuck in dcshlegal’s town…..
268 is stuck in sheriden hit by detector many times forcing it to stop there. It was looked over by 39G, 29G and 261 whom i saw a few weeks earlier at hershey park. With 268 stuck, 18N, 28X and possibly 6K4 and 10K will need to be cautious going by 268 (his conductor may pop in and out like a weasel). I am listening for activity as the day goes along Lots of eastbound trains coming for the reading line! HEADS UP! nick Posted from iPhone Date: 09/16/23 10:15 Re: NS harrisburg line activity Author: wcamp1472 How does this scene change if there were 1-man crews allowed?
W. Date: 09/16/23 10:43 Re: NS harrisburg line activity Author: Darthsimpletext i don’t know, pretty crazy i guess. They would need crews from 1-2 trains to help with inspection

I recall hearing the Conrail Linfield Detector announce an eastbound train was going 50 MPH. If it had been there would probably have been a helluva pileup in the cut at Linfield. I recall the crew getting on the radio and reporting, the speed and added, "I don't so".
