Eastern Railroad Discussion > Indiana and Ohio Railway's New Used PowerDate: 09/17/23 19:53 Indiana and Ohio Railway's New Used Power Author: tq-07fan I caught the G&W owned Indiana and Ohio Railway or I&O CSX Interchange Job returning from Queensgate this afternoon at NA Tower. NA Tower is where the former B&O Ohio Division and the former Big 4 split along with the connection for passenger trains coming off the Toledo Sub. Today it is I&O Midland Sub and the NS Dayton District. The plan is for IORY to repaint all these one by one.

Date: 09/18/23 01:07 Re: Indiana and Ohio Railway's New Used Power Author: coach GE's seem better for full throttle, long-haul runs. Whenever I'm around them, and listen to them, they seem slow to throttle up. Older EMD SD-40's seem far more responsive, and given most shortlines do not do fast, hard running, GE's seem a poor choice. I thought there were lots of used SD-40's out there? Maybe their prices have gone up?

If youre going to be oit there, you may as well be comfortable.
