I would love to see the traffic routings that drive this.  I still have a hard time wrapping my head around not using Willard or even Cumberland to classify traffic on the B&O from the west from Chicago.  Surely they aren't just having the Belt Railway and IHB do all this work?  How are they making blocks for traffic received in Chicago or originating in Indiana and Ohio for points short of Selkirk?

Virtually all of CSX’s Chicago classification work is done at its own Barr Yard or at BRC’s Clearing Yard.  Out of all the Class 1’s, I’m fairly sure that CSX uses Clearing Yard the most.

The following are the current manifest trains on CSX’s Garrett Sub out of Chicago.  As mentioned before, all trains are to / from Barr or Clearing.  Block swapping for Chicago-bound trains still happens in Garrett and Willard.

M203 Garrett, IN - Chicago Barr Yard, IL
M350 Cincinnati, OH - BRC Clearing Yard, IL
M351 Chicago Barr Yard, IL - Cincinnati, OH
M353 BRC Clearing Yard, IL - Columbus, OH
M367 Selkirk, NY - BRC Clearing Yard, IL
M368 BRC Clearing Yard, IL - Selkirk, NY
M369 Cumberland, MD - BRC Clearing Yard, IL
M370 BRC Clearing Yard, IL - Cumberland, MD
M565 Selkirk, NY - Chicago Barr Yard, IL
M566 Chicago Barr Yard, IL - Selkirk, NY

The following are the other current CSX manifest trains in / out of Chicago.  Again, all are to Barr or Clearing.

•Grand Rapids Sub
M326 Chicago Barr Yard, IL - Grand Rapids, MI
M327 Grand Rapids, MI - Chicago Barr Yard, IL

•CSX / UP Villa Grove Sub joint line
M500 Nashville, TN - Chicago Barr Yard, IL
M501 Chicago Barr Yard, IL - Nashville, TN
M502 Nashville, TN - BRC Clearing Yard, IL
M503 BRC Clearing Yard, IL - Nashville, TN
M647 BRC Clearing Yard, IL - Waycross, GA
M648 Waycross, GA - BRC Clearing Yard, IL

•Monon Sub
M641 Chicago Barr Yard, IL - Avon, IN
M642 Avon, IN - Chicago Barr Yard, IL

Andrew, thanks for the NS update. I could not remember the status of Macon.

I wonder which one(s) Ancora thinks are superfluous?

Has NS actually torn up Linwood, Enola or Muscle Shoals like they did Allentown, Sevier and Roanoke?  Google Maps shows them still intact.
