Eastbound New Bethlehem Star NS 200 Topton, PA
Author: dschlegel

This afternoon I took the opportunity to grab a video of the eastbound NS 200 at Topton, PA. Normally due to auto traffic I wouldn't stand where I stood, but both Main Street and Home Avenue crossings are currently ripped up for rail replacement on Main 1.

Here's the New Bethlehem Star racing east to drop its train in Bethlehem and grab it's westbound train to take back to Harrisburg.

Enjoy, and Happy Easter!

Nice! Too bad it isn't still the Reading! Just NS Blah black crap. But it is what it is and maybe I'll get over it. Then again maybe not. Good God I miss the Reading.
Sigh!

Nice video, thanks for posting Dan. I'm assuming when you say that, the whole train goes to the intermodal facility in Bethlehem to be offloaded and the whole return train starts there as well? If so, it reminds me of the old TV-62A/TV-61H turn that ran from Harrisburg to Allentown back in the day, now just going down the track a little bit to Bethlehem. Here's one I caught in the late 90s near Lyons...

Correct, originates at Harrisburg, runs to Bethlehem, and back to Harrisburg with one crew and both directions as the NS 200.

Before all the symbols changed last year it had a 20V east and 21V west symbol but still one crew.

Neat shot near Lyons!

Nice Conrail shot!! Back in the CR days, would that have been a turn crew as well? My recollection is that TV-61H left around 10-11pm after the other westbound trailers were already through. TV-62A was around sunrise or so.
