"Springtime in the Alleghenies"
Author: cinder

Mance, PA basks in the spring sunshine on Sunday afternoon, April 7.   Both videos show a very slow westbound I-015 passing the former Mance Post Office with power in a 1x1x0 configuration.  They are separated because of file size.

This perspective displays a sweeping vista of the horseshoe curve on CSX's mainline over Sand Patch.

"Eclipse Monday"  Eastbound and very late P030 at mp208 just above the Mance Post Office at 10:15 am on a cloudy April 8.  The clouds dissipated in time for the afternoon eclipse, but I was long gone.

Looks like a great day in the mountains.   Is that about typical intermodal speed up the mountain?

Yes, IM's 015 and 135 usually have barely enough power to make the grade.  Don't know about 137 as it usually runs over the mountain under cover of darkness..

That's a nice vantage point, Roger, as it gives a nice distant view (maybe a 1-1/2 miles) down the Wills Creek valley.
Well done.
