Eastern Railroad Discussion > An old Banana in Meridian, MS.Date: 04/18/24 10:43 An old Banana in Meridian, MS. Author: tuxedorailfan May 1st, 2021
A little stroll down memory lane today. One of Progress Rail's EMD SD70ACe-T4 units from the Lease fleet serves as the DPU on the daily KCS M-ARSH (Manifest-Artesia, MS to Shrveport, LA). For a while, KCS leased a small army of these units from Progress Rail and used them on everything. They were finally returned towards the beginning of 2022 if I remember correctly. Although the units had the PTC arrat on top, they didn't have any of the innards such as screen and computers. Though, during this time, they would lead trains, and serve as DPU's, as the railroads could still get away with not having a PTC equipped motor on the point. Enjoy! -Dylan Date: 04/18/24 10:47 Re: An old Banana in Meridian, MS. Author: jgilmore Great work, very crisp and colorful...
