Putting the George Washington back together
Author: Pirate

Former Congressional Parlor/Lounge car George Washington is being put back together after NS had damaged the car in transit two years ago.  Work is taking place at new Reading Northern Shop Facility.

Thanks for update.  Looking forward to progress on this historic car.  Congrats to R&N for their efforts (and $$$)

Boy, using those 2 heavy wreckers to lift the carbody off the flat car is expensive!  I'm surprised they didn't do that using 4 car jacks in the shop.

Is NS paying for the repairs?

Great news for PV George Washington - home shop for well deserved repairs.  Thanks for photos and informative update.

After the car is repaired and placed into a train, it would be great if someone could take a photo of the car crossing the Delaware River.  Then there could be a Trainorders subject line "George Washington Crossing the Delaware River!"
