Got up this morning and checked on what was "out there" and found Amtrak 29 was running about 6 hours late, and was going to be through here in daylight.
Yesterday was a beautiful sunset over Lake Erie, and this morning looked nice too, so off to the tracks.

1. Yesterday's sunset.

2. I went to the docks and the light was just plain bad for some reason, so I checked out the north side of the bridge. It looked doable .... but then the sun broke through the cloud cover and  ... well, no way was that going to work. Then it was off to the Rail Park at Main Street. Not great lighting for a westbound, but ok. Then of all things a horn to the west ... yikes, which side do I want to be on because I'm likely to be blocked if I choose wrong as by my calculations Amtrak is due in about 3 minutes. The noise of the eastbound in the distance is almost deafening like rolling thunder or a squadron of A-10's on a strafing mission. Sounds like they are coming off the  NKP connector which means they will be on Track 2, so  figure Amtrak will be on Track 1 .... the dark side. Yup, the rolling thunder of Train 32N slowly heels around the curve into town with NS 1850, 1162 and mid train DPU NS 4511.

3. And turning to the east there is the meet down by the river bridge. If the light was good and I set up there, I'd probably be blocked.

4. And here comes #29 with Amtrak 327 leading, trailing behind is Baggage 61040 followed by; 39010, 32111, 37000, 34040 and 34050.

5. Amtrak Chargers are not a frequent sight here in the daylight.

6. And away he goes as the 32N still occupies Track 2.

7. And we get a shot of the NS 4511, the mid train DPU on 32N which ends the morning shoot.

Maybe this afternoon there will be more.

Nice Sunset and Amtrak meet. I'm starting to get used to seeing the Chargers, like the GEs before them and the original Amtrak diesels that replaced the E Units!
