Lehigh Gorge Scenic Operating Cycle
Author: HomerBedloe

Third video of 4.  This is the cycle of the Lehigh Gorge Scenic RR on Sunday, Sept 15.  We were incredibly lucky with the weather, as can be seen.
Clip 1:  Somewhat out of sequence, but this is the 3 oclock LGSR returning from the State Park.  The location was at the southern end of the yard, passing the outbound RBMN Pittston train that we were taking back to White Haven.
Clip 2:  This was the 1 oclock LGSR returning, as it entered the Jim Thorpe station tracks.
Clips 3 & 4: Once all the passengers are off the train, the engine runs around its train using the second station track.  In clip 4, the engine has to stop to throw the derail, which is when the station attendant makes the announcement for people to stay back behind the yellow line with the locomotive coming through.  There are a bunch of R&N employees that act as security to make sure the movement is safe.
Photos 5 & 6:  I swear I thought the camera was on video to capture the locomotive coming by all the folks (some from the inbound train, others waiting to board for the next outbound), but it had reverted to photograph mode.  So here is the engine approaching, and then again closer to where I was standing.  The conductor rides the movement to line the derail and the switches at both ends of the second station track.
Clip 7:  The 3 oclock LGSR departs from Jim Thorpe on the way to the wye and the state park.  This gives a good view of the train consist - it is a pretty big train.  And it was sold out at 11, 1 and 3.  Nice weather in late summer - I suspect the R&N and the merchants in Jim Thorpe were extraodinarily pleased with the crowds.

Thanks again for watching.  The final video will be the two RBMN trains preparing for departure from Jim Thorpe - should be up tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for posting!  Between the superb video coverage of the RBMN, and the livstream camera, it's possible to keep up with the changes and enhancements constantly being made to the rolling stock of the railroad's superb passenger operations.

Keep 'em coming, please.

Nice sequence.   I'm almost surprised they don't have an engine on each end,  The paint shop has been very busy this year.
