A tale of two NS 28Xs
Author: Pattenburg

Back on September 12, 2023 I learned that the Virginian heritage unit was leading NS’s 28X. My decision was to photograph 28X crossing over the former LVRR at Neshanic Station, NJ. The only problem was with all the trees around, it is a challenge to get a good photograph. Fortunately, I was able to get the shot I wanted.
Fast forward one year later and another heritage unit was leading 28X on October 25. This time its leader was the Savannah & Atlanta heritage unit. Once again I opted for the former LVRR Bridge in Neshanic Station and got quite a surprise. Those trees around the bridge were no longer there! A road construction project, possibly a flood wall to prevent River Road from getting flooded out when the river overflows, has taken down all those trees along the wall. As a result two units and not just one diesel are now easily photographed.
