Sea Girt is down towards Bay View Yard on the east side of Baltimore, therefore these trains do not go through the Howard Street Tunnel. Date: 10/31/24 08:45 Re: CSX Philly Sub Stack Train! Author: Gonut1 I'm thinking CSX finally completed undercutting the "tunnel" in Darby, PA. I believe this was the last doublestack obstacle, other than Howard Street tunnel in Baltimore standing in the way of north-south Atlantic coast stack trains on CSX.
Sea Girt Terminal in Baltimore can be accessed directly from Philadelphia, Howard Street obstructing any stack movement south. There is a new container terminal under construction in the former Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point site that will double the container capacity benefitting both CSX and NS. Interesting developments Gonut Date: 10/31/24 12:48 Re: CSX Philly Sub Stack Train! Author: MdRailfan jaybest Wrote:
