Some seasonal orange, train and trees
Author: EL833

The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic has recently leased a pair of LTEX former Conrail GP15-1s to augment their MLW FPA4 fleet. They are normally paired with one of the MLWs or operated solo, but on 10-25 the two were paired up. While pretty much an orange dip paint sceme, they did look good passing through some Fall color at MP 43 in Akron, Ohio.

Looks great in fall colors.  Why the lease?   Alcos not playing nice?

Pretty much the case. The 6771 is getting a rebuild, the 6780 (old 800) was almost ready to run again this year, but never did, and the 6777 suffered a fire a few days ago. The "new" 6773 hasn't been out running, not sure why. The 365 (neutered C420) continues to have issues as well. All the other MLWs- 181, 1822, 4241- were sent to scrap earlier this year. There is an FPB-4 on the property, but I don't see it getting any attention until next year- if ever.
