While walking Dixie the rescue beagle tonight I lucked into the 269 barreling through town. No footage of Dixie in the one, sorry!

Another nice video from the Reading Line. I so miss the real Reading! Although I live on the former Reading Mainline, I don't get up to the similarly named Reading Line nearly often enough. My three best memories from the Reading Line are these - 
I was standing on a bridge on Tank Farm Road (no longer there, east of Macungie) and realizing while watching a westbound that all the boxcars no longer had footwalks on them!
Another was seeing 5 Lehigh and Hudson River Alcos pulling a freight west through Macungie Rte 100 crossing with a L&HR caboose on the hind end This was onbly days after Conrail started). One other, likely early Conrail, near where the Mack Truck plant is now, was an eastbound with sparks and fire under a car, probably a dragging brake. Pretty much like a 4th of July show. When we got inot Macungie the fire trucks were at the  crossing!
Way off topic -
So not being a "dog person" in the least, very much to my wife's dismay, what does a "Rescue Beagle" rescue and from what? Everytime you add that description to your dog's name I wonder what your Daisy actually is/ does. She looks like a pleasant enough dog. I lost my miniature black and white Border Collie when I was pre-teen and having to dig a hole and bury him was the end of any future dogs for me. There was no touchy-feely "Rainbow Bridge" for lost pets back then, just reality, just gone. Our mailman ran over him. RIP Laddy (such a cliche name!).

Go-I remember that bridge on Tank Farm rd, it was removed when I was in the Air Force when CR cleared the line for double stacks.

As for what Dixie rescues, mostly food that has been dropped on the floor or ground!!

Actually both of our dogs came from SOS Beagle Rescue, they foster beagles from up and down the east coast that are given up by their owners or removed from bad situations. They operate locally out of Cold Nose Lodge in Alburtis, PA.

Lucy was given up by her original owners, who had gotten her to cope with the loss of their daughter but couldn’t handle having a puppy while grieving.

Dixie was removed from a hoarder’s home where there were dozens of pets living in unhealthy dirty conditions.

Lucy warmed right up to us when we got her but Dixie took a while. Dixie still is wary of most people and other dogs until she builds trust with them.

They’re both great family members, we got Lucy in 2017 and Dixie in 2018 a few years after our first beagle (Madle) passed away.

Ooops, I called your Dixie, "Daisy", I apologize, I don't like getting names wrong.
Thanks for the explanation, You are the Rescue person, Dixie the recipient. Everytime I read Rescue Beagle I pictured a St Bernard with a keg of rum or whatever was in that keg!
I'm sure both Dixie and Lucy (I had a Great Aunt Lucy that sort of reminded me of a Bulldog), appreciate your family taking them in.
