Just another Caboose Hop

Aberdeen Carolina & Western "Engine Room 87" heads to the barn on a damp Monday January 6, 2025.  The unique entertainment venue was used for mobile events during the US Open this past summer, then spent the balance of the year as an open to the public stationary bar adjacent to the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Pinehurst NC.  It's last day of operation was just prior to Christmas.  With winter now set in and the resulting lower volume of play at the resort, ACWR is taking the opportunity to take 87 and the caboose back to the shop in Candor.  Wear and tear from 7 months of continuous use will be refreshed, and improvements/upgrades from lessons learned as a functioning bar will be incorporated.  It is anticipated 87 will return in the spring, although I've heard talk that it might split it's time in 2025 between the Resort in Pinehurst and the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte.
