Georgia Central Takes Over Midville-Vidalia Line
Author: akpsteam

Today, the Georgia Central Railway ran their first train out of Midville, GA towards Swainsboro since taking over operations from Patriot Rail's Georgia Southern Railway over the new year. The first photo shows the train leaving the NS interchange in Midville and the second photo would show the train further south in Summertown.

Thank you for posting.  A few years back when I lived in Macon, it took a look at the line south of Swainsboro towards I-16.  Track south of I-16 was not visible at ponts in aerial views of the area in Google maps.  Current images appear4 to show the entire line in service.

Line has been rebuilt between Vidalia and Swainsboro however there have been washouts between Normantown and Oaks Park in recent months since Hurricane Helene.
