AC44C6M with a tender?
Author: JPB

While watching Virtual Railfan's fairly new Porter Junction IN static live cam, I did a double take as this eastbound NS manifest approached - it looked like NS AC44C6M 4510 was trailing a tender!  I'm guessing the "tender" is a Greenbrier-built AOK covered transverse steel coil carrier, as modeled by Rapido?

Look like it might indeed be a coil steel car....

The first time I saw one it was a black NS one behind an NS loco and and wasn't sure what it was until I saw a bunch of UP gray ones a few days later mixed in with older coil cars.
I'm guessing sticking flat plate steel together is cheaper and easier than bending and cutting circular pieces and parts like most of the older designs.

It's a Greenbrier coil car. The train might be B16, Kankakee - Burns Harbor - Elkhart, which somehow always seems to only have one unit. But it has a chunk of steel traffic that frequently includes those cars.

too small to be a CNG/LNG car.
