That might be the most crossarms on a pole line that I've ever seen! It is good to see those still around. Date: 02/01/25 15:24 Re: First CSX detour train M371Today Author: CPMorris RDG630 - This is a detour beween where and where and why?
Any information is appreciated. Unaware of this until now. Thank You. Date: 02/01/25 16:28 Re: First CSX detour train M371Today Author: RFandPFan Detours are due to Howard Street tunnel work. Will go on for most of this year.

Thank You. 2 trains each direction per day. The detour is Philly- Reading-Harrisburg-Hagerstown Posted from iPhone Doug Wetherhold Macungie, PA Date: 02/01/25 18:24 Re: First CSX detour train M371Today Author: boejoe Great photo Dale. Looks like your "stepladder" was taller than the others - LOL

Nice shot of the first detour, not sure how one was to get a heads up. I live directly on the Harrisburg Line but had no idea that this was happening and totally missed this. Oh! Well. Not the first time, I'll get over it. I actually figured NS would host the detours overnight when the rails are even more dead than they are in daytime. 25 years ago there were over 20 trains a day. Today 4, or maybe 6 and NS claims there is no capacity to run passenger trains. I guess I just don't get how a 2 track mainline can only host more than 6 trains a day. Whatever. Thanks for the post Dale. gonut Date: 02/01/25 19:36 Re: First CSX detour train M371Today Author: globalethanol Listen to the Potomac scanner feed which will cover anything going through CP Town interlocking. That is anything coming up NS to Hagerstown or the ex WM from Cherry Run to Hagerstown and vice versa.

If this is the only place you go for RR info, then you may be less informed. You and Club Car suffer from "Rip Van Winkle Syndrome"; you last understood railroading about 25-40 years ago, took a hiatus, and now it's all so confusing. Looking from left to right along the train - I see a third tower structure beyond the 2nd loco. And then I don’t see any more. Is that where they stop? Posted from iPhone Edited 1 time(s). M372 @ Greencastle cam @ 16:20, M371 has reportedly cleared Rutherford Yard and is on the Lurgan. Update: M371 passed Greencastle cam @ 18:05, CSX #1897 Monon was 2nd engine, Tropicana cars and a vintage 86' Chessie box in the mix. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/02/25 15:19 by bigsavage. CSX sent a 19,000 ton tank train to Youngstown, but NS would NOT accept it. So it proceeded west to Willard. Then east through Cleveland to Ashtabula and regular re-route.
Date: 02/03/25 05:45 Re: First CSX detour train M371Today Author: cjvrr The existing poles are steel and integral with the former station canopy. They probably had wooden poles on the rest of the line. The wooden poles were torn down many years ago.
Date: 02/03/25 19:17 Re: First CSX detour train M371Today Author: MdRailfan I was in Aberdeen, Md all day saturday and only saw 1 CSX manifest heading west to Baltimore. No scanner so no idea of symbol, but guessing it was Baltimore freight that went to Philly first. Time was around 5 pm. also heard another CSX from the Perryville train station around 11:30 pm and no info on what it was but was also going west towards Baltimore.
