I'm sure I ll be blasted that is the wrong Discusion Area for this post , it was last posted in TO 7 years ago on the European and Model RR Discusion but I never look there so decided I'll post it here.

Cool looking resteraunt in Prauge that serves its food and drink by a extensive model railroad layout to your table.  Pretty impressive looking if you search around for it.  It's called Vytopna Railway Resteraunt in Prague.  Looks like they openned up in Austria too.

There was an episode of "Cheers" years ago when the drinks were being served by O Gauge Lionel Trains. Pretty cool! Then Norm threw a switch to intercept a beer on the way to another cuistomer.

Fifty years ago (I was going to type twenty, but then started to count the decades on my fingers) there was a restaurant across the street from the C&NW station in Des Planes, Illinois, that did the same thing.  I can't find it on Google Maps now.  Gerry

I remember that our family went to a restaurant on 95th St. in Chicago (possibly in Evergreen Park). They used Lionel O gauge cars running on a loop of track around the u-shaped counter. This was in the '50s, and I'm sure the place closed/moved long ago.

I believe you're referring to Snackville Junction.  Had burgers, dogs, and other diner items.  Pretty sure it went away in early 2000s.  It gave some of the local retired guys a place to run their Lionel trains.

That has to be the place, although I couldn't recall the name of the place and was mistaken about its location. I'm glad to hear that it lasted all those years. I thought that it had closed years ago but obviously was (happily) mistaken.

There is a place in Wisconsin Dells that does this. Like everything in the dells it is more like a tourist trap/family vacation style but the food and service is actually pretty good.

"Buster" Keaton of "The General" movie fame. Had a similar set up. Where food would travel by model train from the kitchen to a picnic table in his yard!

My Aunt and Uncle used to take me there as a kid. There is a similar one in Glen Ellyn by the UP ex-C&NW tracks.

Fritz's Railroad Restaurant has been delivering burgers, etc. by train for years. There are three locations in the Kansas City area.
