Here on the CSX CE&D sub a new 11,000' siding was built in 2007 called Smith. It was a badly needed siding for train meets and keep the CE&D a little more efficient.  I posted last week showing CSX I025 at the north end of Smith. https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?2,5988397
This 3 part video I call "The Essence of Smith siding". I hiked the Quabache Park woods and hills to get to the middle of Smith and had my brother set up at the south end of Smith which is where Quabache Park recrational grounds are located. To make ths video I felt like  Rambo the railfan. LOL!
In part 1 Q124 rolls north then Q028 goes in the siding for a rolling meet with Q029 on the main. Next is northbound Q588 passing a couple of R of W hikers and then empty ballast train W072 hammers south.
I have again include a map of the area just north of Vincennes, IN. The video was made on an August day in 2013.

Part 2 shows southbound Q595 going in the siding for 3 nortbounds. First up was Q514 then intermodal Q192. Rambo was on it looking for his prey. ;)

Part 3 still has Q595 in the hole and the third northbound, S124, passes by on the main at Smith. After S124 passes Q595 gets the green light to depart the siding and continue south to Evansville, IN.
Last part of the video shows the flood waters of 2011. Northbound Q124 goes in the hole for Q515 with some water in the area. The 2008 flood had water right up to the ballast and that is the flood that blew out the levee on the Illinois side causing a lot of damage over there.

Before the howard street tunnel work it was exciting to be a places like berry and naamans and have M409 meet say, I032 or M301 meet an M410, those fantastic days will return again but i will need to wait a while
