1. The e/b CSXT M415 led by CM44AH #7424, rebuilt from CW44AH #554 built 3//02, + ES40DC #5353 is tied down on #4 Runner at 09:18.
Audley, Virginia
Audley is the north end of the siding the south end of which is Berryville.
2. The s/b NS 25A led at 10:34 by ES44AC #8043 + AC44C6M #4210, rebuilt 2//19 from C44-9W #9001 built 4//96, meets
3. n/b NS 16T stopped in the siding.
Between 10:00 and 11:45 the dispatcher calls the 16T engineer three times and asks if “they” have arrived yet.  I assume it’s a recrew he is waiting for, and the answer is “no.”

4. About 12:00 three WELINC emergency response trucks arrive.
The engineer informs the dispatcher, and the WELINC men assess the situation, determining that the locomotives will have to move north to the switch area blocking the Main, and the process will take about two hours.  The dispatcher wants to get s/b NS 289 by before 16T blocks the Main.
5. The s/b NS 289 is led at 12:26 by AC44C6Ms #4473, rebuilt 7//21 from C44-9W #9271 built 2//99, + #4412, rebuilt 1//21 from C44-9W #9235 built 5//98.
6. ES44AC #8165 + ES44DC #7685 + AC44C6M #4181, rebuilt 3//19 from C44-9W #8898 built 1//96, off 16T get into position.  It appears to me they are about to pump something out of the second unit.

As always, great photos and updates from both the old B&O and the old Norfolk & Western lines in your area.  I always enjoy seeing them.  By the way, those MARC engines look so dirty in the upper fronts of these units.  I assume it is from the exhaust when they are pushing their trains.  But I would think that the MARC people would wash these units from time to time to get rid of that oily grime.
