NKP 765 Ferry Move - 05/05/2025 (Part Three)
Author: refarkas

As part of NKP 765's ferry move from the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad to the Wheeling and Lake Erie, 765 pulled into the Carter Lumber siding in Akron, Ohio on May 5, 2025.
1) Pulling into the lumber company property.
2) Sitting at Carter Lumber.

Great photos. Was this lumber yard stop just a "photo op" or was there another reason?
Thanks,

I'm curious, too. Neat seeing NKP 765 on such terminal track. Water leaking from the auxiliary tender?

I was told that the use of the Carter Lumber trackage was part of the train's transfer from the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad's trackage to the Wheeling and Lake Erie.

Interesting, i just looked at Google earth and there indeed is a saw-through connection to both railroads.
Thanks for the info.
