Just wanted to tell anyone who is interested
that I have started a Yahoo Group for the
Norfolk Southern Harrisburg Division. For folks
who railfan in southcentral PA, I have created
topographic maps of the Acqueduct, Duncannon and
Newport areas and saved these as Jpeg files.

The maps also identify some prominent landmarks
for the railfan who is not familiar with the
area. I intend to create more topo maps as time
permits.

I was somewhat surprised by the dearth of information
about the Harrisburg Division on the internet. Perhaps
this Yahoo Group can in some modest way correct this.
Membership is unrestricted and the site is not moderated.

There are plenty of NS Harrisburg Division yahoogroups out there with a wealth of information.. Some of the yahoogroups that come to mind are TierSightings, NSTier, BinghamtonNYareaRailfans, plus NYSW and dandh fill in the voids in this one region of the Harrisburg Division. Do a search at yahoogroups and you will find it is fully covered... Just giving a heads up and trying not to be rude, just informative for ya :) Good luck on your new group

Including tristate-RR, NSlehighline, and NSreadingline.

Unfortunately, Yahoo Groups tends to attract too many folks who are intent toward "owning" their own group, and they splinter things down to the point that it's not worth subscribing to every one that comes along.

Just an FYI - Newport and Aqueduct are not part of the NS Harrisburg Division, they are part of the Pittsburgh Division (even though they are only 15-25 miles from Harrisburg, but over 150 miles from Pittsburgh!)
