Eastern Railroad Discussion > B36-7s on CSXDate: 10/23/03 19:21 B36-7s on CSX Author: GPutz How many of these does CSX still run ? What's the probability of getting 2 sequentially numbered CSX B36-7s on the same train ? Here's a w/b empty auto rack train (Q261 ?) on #2 Main (P891 was just ahead of it on #1 Main) at East Rocks (the east wye switch at Point of Rocks), MD, this afternoon about 5:00 p.m. led by #5832 + #5833. Gary Date: 10/24/03 08:20 Re: B36-7s on CSX Author: mderrick Catching a pair in mainline service is a pretty tough feat these days. Most are used in local service, especially in the southeast. I'd check http://www.bullsheet.com for an up to date roster. At the rate they've retired these units over the least year or so, I wouldn't want to hazard a guess as to how many of the original 120 or so are still active.
Mike Derrick http://www.shortlinesusa.com Date: 10/24/03 08:53 Re: B36-7s on CSX Author: Larry576 88 remain out of 120. However they are converting them into RC Pushes - many are expected to be done eventually.
