Passed Benning a little after noon yesterday. I noticed someone has messed up the front number boards and the cab numbers by slightly painting over them...

Reminds me of the country song "Long Black Train" by Josh Turner. Too bad on the music video it's #610 not #666!

BNSF renumbered its DASH 9-44CW #666 to #599. I wonder if CSX will renumber AC6000CW 666?

I would renumber the unit, like UP and BNSF and get the superstitious of my back, but it it not the devil, its just a locomotive, which just happens to be one of my all time favorite loco models. I have seen these four times here in Miami, the two that I got really close enough to see them (about 20 feet away as opposed to about 1/3 mile like the other 2 times) were the 618 and 646. What has happened to the KCS's 666, an SD40-2? I believe FEC's own GP9 666 is now gone, having been sold although I forget to which company or shortline it was sold to, having been made surplus by a fleet of secondhand ex UP SD40-2's, which by the way look good in UP paint that still looks good, along with the name Florida East Coast spelled out on the long hood along with the hurricane logo at about half the size of the logo on the older scheme, both in dark blue. On the nose is a large dark blue FEC logo.
