Oddity Entry - Acela - what happened to the train?

Back to back Acela power cars at Penn coach Yard in Phila. Did somebody forget something?

And here I couldn't imagine why someone would buy a power car and dummy set from Bachmann Spectrum without the cars.... Now I see it's prototypical!

Possibly because the engines were due their FRA 90 day inspection. I'm sure its cumbersome to have to work on the locomotives while there are cars attached

No. All inspections are done at the maintenance facilities. If one of these motors need to have the power block replaced, then they might separate it from the train. Penn Coach is where Bombardier/Alstom have shops for major Acela work that is beyond normal maintenance.
