Fresh Paint on the SVRR
Author: bnsf521

The Shenandoah Valley Railroad (Staunton, VA) has finished painting and lettering LLPX 2015. Nice lookin' locomotive now.

Where does the track connect to? Is it by the yard with the Virginia Central
steamer in storage? I was in Staunton last summer and didn't even know about
that shortline. (other than all the junk stored at the yard there in Staunton ;^)

The line connects with CSX just east of the yard you refer to. The line then parallels U.S. 11 the better part of the way to Harrisonburg. Here is a link to a map that shows where the line connects...

thanks for the info. We did a tour of the North Mountain
sub during the C&OHS convention last year, but I don't think
they mentioned that shortline at all. That's why I was surprised
to hear about it ;^)
