Required railroad content: I got several boxes of Minnesota slides date-stamped during the early innings, though the work started slowing down as the number of remaining outs diminished. Bring on the "Red Sox Wrap" MBTA train (just an idea of mine)!

Born in Berkshire County here; first major league game was at Fenway. Congrats BoSox! The MBTA will be rocking tonight :-)

If you hate Boston, don't blame them for the World Series being boring (in your opinion). Blame the Cardinals, they are the ones that didn't show up!

Where's the Bambino now? The Curse is broken! And at least as sweet as the Sox winning is that the Evil Empire has been vanquished. Between the contracts he's dished out and taking on A-Rod's The Boss has spent over half a billion in the last four years and has zilch to show for it. And we don't have to listen to John Sterling for a change.
The Yankees Lose!

I spent the first years of my life in Worcester, Mass, 40 miles west of Boston. I saw my first ballgame at Fenway. I'm happy that the Red Sox won! :)

Next year its the Cubs' turn.

OK, to make this a railroad post, did the New York Central ever run a train from Boston to St. Louis? My guess is that the closest they ever came to this was changing cars among through trains at Albany Union Station.

I apologize for saying what I did about Boston. I was ticked at my Cardinals and wasn't thinking clearly.

Actually it's the White Sox' turn next year. Not the Cubs. The White Sox haven't won the WS since 1919, one year after Boston's last WS crown in 1918. Remember, history repeats it's self.

Huh? I thought the White Sox LOST in 1919, the Black Sox scandal and all that. Didn't they throw that series?

This is true. The White Sox' last Series championship was in 1917. Because of the Black Sox scandal, it would be fitting for the Cubs to manage a Series win before the South Siders do, though to me personally it doesn't matter and I suppose one could argue that White Sox fans have suffered long enough for that transgression.

After the Chicago teams, the third-longest current drought belongs to the Cleveland Indians (1948), unless you want to count the Washington Senators (given that a franchise will be returning to Washington now).

THANK YOU, BOSTON!

I spent 4 years in college in Missouri. I got thrown in a pond (it was a tradition) at the conclusion of the 1987 series when the Cards lost to the Twins in 7 games. My crime? Quietly rooting for the Twins as any true Cubs fan would. My comment at the end of the game, "Well, you guys can't blame this one on the ump!" resulted in me getting thrown into the pond across the street. I know Cardinal fans who, to this day, can not get over the blown call in the 1985 series with KC.

To keep this on topic, the pond I was thrown into used to be known as Frisco Pond because it served as a source of water for SLSF steam engine in Rolla, MO

Oops.

Yes, that should have read 1917. I never was good with dates. Thankfully TO has plenty of critics..lol

I'm a die-hard White Sox fan of 20 years. The Sox better win a WS before the evil northsiders do.

I would imagine the city would implode if the White Sox played the Cubs in the WS! -no matter what the outcome.

I'll bet it would be quite interesting. The city would definately be divided. It could be scary if that was ever to happen.
