Eastern Railroad Discussion > C&O 8016 Night ShotDate: 10/30/04 23:34 C&O 8016 Night Shot Author: JUTower Here's a night shot of Potomac Eagle and C&OHS equipment at Romney, WV crossing the South Branch of the Potomac.
"C&O" 8016 was originally CRR 116, later CSX 116. Enjoy! -Alex Date: 10/31/04 00:15 Re: C&O 8016 Night Shot Author: espeeboy Awesome shot! Seomthing kinda mystical and painting like but both very real and surreal. Looks like something from that new Polar Express animated movie coming out this week. Was the shot posed and when was it taken?

Interesting livery on G Tavern since it was originally the dark green livery applied to the George Washington passenger train upon which it first served. Of course the current paint makes it fit with the other stock on this train. I wonder when it was applied?

Totally awesome shot... With there being so little light how did you stop the action ? Thanks, Cabin Pequea, PA Date: 10/31/04 13:47 Re: C&O 8016 Night Shot Author: cando2716 Both 8016 and Gadsby's Tavern are owned by the C&O Historical Society and leased to Potomac Eagle. Gadsby's Tavern was painted in Pullman green and "George Washington" on the letter board when it was first restored. The paint was badly faded so it was decided to repaint the car to the scheme it had when it was retired from the C&O. Potomac Eagle repainted it and the 8016 last spring. It makes a neat looking consist when the two are paired with Chessie Club and Eagle Canon.
Great pic on the trestle! Date: 10/31/04 18:48 Re: C&O 8016 Night Shot Author: JUTower Thanks for the comments, guys -
The train was posed. A posed train doesn't make for as lively a caption. :) -Alex Date: 10/31/04 19:14 Re: C&O 8016 Night Shot Author: CRmac80 Great photo Alex!!

Not to be picky, but it was actually CRR 800. The 116 number didn't come until after CRR was merged into Seaboard System Date: 11/01/04 18:05 Re: C&O 8016 Night Shot Author: JUTower csxt4617 Wrote:
