St Mary's Railroad excursion
Author: emd_mrs1

Just off I-95 in Kingsland GA, St Mary's Railroad is offering daily (usually - call first) excursions to the town of St. Marys with a several hour layover to visit and tour the town or have lunch.

They currently use this rebuilt F3a painted in CB&Q colors with a heritage of Cape Cod, MBTA, and GM&O. A single coach has been restored, and a second coach is almost ready.

The St Mary's freight power is parked at the end of the branch. One switcher is in service and a second is out of service for mechanical reasons. Traffic is down on the line since the closing of the paper company, with only the remaining navy base and several online industries needing service.

Oh yes, cab ride tickets are available! This is a very friendly pleasant operation and should not be missed.

Have a good day.
