Train count depends where you are but it looks like ~ 25 CSX road trains per day plus some locals, 4 Amtraks (LSL and Vermonter), and scads of T commuter trains east of Worcester.

If you would like to see all of CSX's Boston Line trains on video we have two videos taken on that line in the past two years: CSX in the Berkshires in 2002, and Palmer MA - New England Hot Spot in 2003. Each of these show all of the trains on the Boston line for over 24 hours and are available in DVD and VHS.

Barbers is a junction of Boston & Maine and Providence & Worcester trackage on the north side of Worcester. It's where CSX interchanges trains to Guilford via the Ayer-Worcester line. CSX has trackage rights over the P&W between CP-45 and Barbers to reach this location. The trackage rights date back to the early 1990s when Guilford moved its principal Conrail interchange to Worcester from Rotterdam Junction, NY so it could reduce maintenance on the ex-B&M main line across western Massachusetts.
