Caught this in Morrisville Yard today. The CP rail logo is still visable under the grey paint.

Interesting, in that it's ex-Southern and that under CP ownership its cab windows were painted out so that it could only be used as a B unit.

How many of these are out there? I saw one a couple weeks ago.

Wow, I remember seeing those things (then black) on the D&H Colonie Main from out the window of my middle school, way back when CP had SD40-2s from every leaser under the sun roaming around. They also still had MLWs running back then... I can still remember watching a track geometry train roll by one day with an M630 on the point... and not one photo of any of this have I... *sigh*

I don't know how many NREX got, but CP had 11 (3244-3254). Most got repainted in
CP Rail System and renumbered 5475-5483, but two didn't (3253 and 3254). They
stayed in black patched NS paint with white CP Rail lettering on the long hood.
I remember seeing one with a note taped to the cab window saying the cab wasn't
to be occupied. (this was a few years ago).

WOW! it's a cyclops! I didn't realize that CP had put a single headlight on those hi-noses. Weird looking. I swear that I saw that unit in Columbus about a week ago. If so, good utilization.
