MNNR 48 handled the New Brighton Job back to Midway Yard on June 16, 2005. I'm glad to see them using the "winged streamliner" on their units. Class operation!

These were taken last July while on the eastbound Empire builder. This one is from the platform. The rest are thru the window. So the colors are off a little from the train. The terminal was full as this was a Sunday morning.

Sorry about the angle of this one. It was a grab the last shot as they dissapeared from view. It was nice of them to line them up for me.

Did you get a chance to fan the other class operation of the Twin Cities "Progressive Rail" ?

No, I was at the mercy of AMTRAK. A fan trip up that would be nice though.

If the big Alco in the picture there is number 73 (I can only see the thumbnails), just read where the 636 Associates bought that recently, and it may join the other big MLWs holding down duties on the NYSW.

MNNR seems to be slowly but surely steering away from a predominately Alco roster to GEs.

The ex-CP's are the Alco/MLW units. I believe they have an M630 (73, ex-CP 4573),
an RS18 (don't remember the number) and an M636C (ex-CP 4711, rebuilt with a cat
engine). I saw the RS18 and M636C back in 98 or 99 when they were heading west
thru Michigan on a CP train enroute to MNNR.
