Eastern Railroad Discussion > CSX Gevo in Erie...Painted!Date: 09/12/05 18:05 CSX Gevo in Erie...Painted! Author: CR6079 Visited Erie yesterday in hopes of catching some of these units and after seeing all the undecs coming out of Erie it was a pleasant surprise to see a couple painted. Was only there an hour when Q390 rolled into town to pic up the units.Power for 390 was a UP SD70M/CSX C44-9W/CSX SD50,well after about a half hour of prepping the new units for shipment the entire lashup went back to its train and soon headed for Buffalo and finally Selkirk. It was nice to see the new units on the head end but the end of the train also had a treat.....First the units on the ready track.

Likely, the coaches are coming in from a rebuild.

MBTA is in the process of getting 28 new Kawasaki double-deck cars, like those in the photos, which I believe are being put together at Kawasaki's Iowa plant; and of course, Erie is on the most likely route such cars would take on their way to Boston.
