Model Railroading > A Modelable Modern YardDate: 03/22/06 12:13 A Modelable Modern Yard Author: CNWJAG Here's a photo taken yesterday of the CP/SOO Line Ford Plant Yard in St. Paul. The road power in the shot is from the 0700 "Ford Hauler" out of St Paul(aka "Pigs Eye")Yard. The Haulers make a turn three times a day at 0700, 1500 and 2300 between Pigs Eye Yard and the Ford Plant. Yard crews using the switchers at left do the actual spotting and pulling from the plant itself and probably use the SOO Line caboose for any long backup moves. The compact nature of the yard along with the sharp curve in the middle would make a great modern prototype for a space starved modeler.
