Model U25 B - rookie needs guidance
Author: u216smc

I'm looking for a U25B with a GE demo paint job & logos. I'm looking for a display model only to show with my vintage construction equipment models. I need something close to a 1:50 scale. Any ideas?

I believe there have been some metal U25B model kits available in O Scale which is 1:48. The U25B demos were mostly high hood which I do not believe has ever been offerred. There may have been a couple of low nose demos later on. The GE demo decals will also be a challenge to find. Atlas makes a nice O Scale GP35 model if you can get over the idea of a GE.

Weaver produced a 1:48 scale U-25B in plastic, though I don't believe they offered the GE demo scheme. These were pretty good models for what it's worth.

Central Locomotive Works made the U25B in O scale, and there was at least one low-nose demo.

Aristo-Craft makes a low-nose GE U25B a "G" scale but that won't do you much good!

Your best bet is going to be the Weaver. My dad has two of them. One in Union Pacific, and one in Delaware and Hudson.
