Model Railroading > Simple Question about P1K F3A & B close coupling....

Here's a simple question from a simple guy...

I have a set of MEC F3A and B in Proto 1000 that I would like to get coupled closer together than box stock coupler boxes and #5s allow.

Do any modelers out there know of a slick setup that will allow them to couple closer together, while still being able to negotiate reasonable club layout curvature?

I'm sure someone has already figured this out, and I'm lazily trying to avoid the trail-and-error if I can.

MEC on the Mountain Division - it doesn't get any better, even if it's only in my mind.....

Kadee makea a special set-up for the Stewart F units by the way and I think it works well. I've installed it and found it to be close enough.
