Railflyer underframes

Thought I would post some pictures off of another forum I just saw. These are of the Railflyer under frames that have been in the works for awhile and are about to be released.

I personally ordered 2 back in April and will surely buy more here soon.

They are preproduction photos of the kit being built by Brian Banna for Railflyer.

Its about time we had some new innovations in the hobby for Craftsmen style modeling. It moves us even closer to the realism that the military modelers put into there models.

I was just looking at those on the RailFlyer site, interesting timing. It all looks like a great idea, I'm a little concerned about the progress being made, in regards to time or production capability, but it looks like great techniques. Already bought a few parts, curious that they have since been discontinued.
Who's trucks fit into the frame? Looks like Athearn's but ya never know.

They say Athearn trucks will fit even though he says he will be making new scale width trucks to fit the frame here soon. The discontinued items were done because he updated all of them to work alone or as apart of the new underframe kits.

Now lets not open another can of worms about a manufacturer taking time to get a product in or hands. You know what that will lead to.

Thanks for the info. I support the little guys that deliver as well as the big guys that deliver.

I'm curious how a small manufacturer like Railflyer, who relies so much on the internet for getting the word on his product out, can show a product is "available" but not provide a photo of it.

I'm disappointed in his website; lots of clicking to get nowhere.

If you read his update near the bottom of the front page he is changing the website to be a e-commerce site. It is currently being built by a internet company I'm sure. Also Railflyer does sale through Walthers.

I have personally ordered many things from them and my local hobby shop also carries there items.

One of the friendliest and helpful manufacturers I have ever met.

Regardless of the website, he offers a great product with high-fidelity detail. Highly recommended.

I have nothing but good things to say about the parts I got from him.
I'm thinking maybe an early GP frame with push pockets .. (BL-20-2 fodder).
Plus he is a new daddy so he's got his hands full.

TCS - good luck with all of that
