DCC IR Question
Author: stivmac

I just got a D-Trax IR receiver. Its one of those that looks like one of their Loconet connectors. I've got the UT4 throttle. I got it wired up, but MAN is it tough to get it to pick up a signal. How far back or up close should the operator be? I know it's line of sight, but even standing directly in front, it seems to be REAL slow picking up a signal, if at all. I did not wire in the track leads, is this necessary? The thing works fine with the throttle plugged in.

I have never had any problems in a 12 by 20 foot room from anywhere in the room. Try emailing the Digitrax technical support. They are good and they are prompt.

Have you provided auxiliary power to the unit from the wall wart?
