BLI RSD15 sound question
Author: DH7324

I'm considering getting a BLI RSD15 off of ebay, and there seem to be some decently-priced sound units availible. I'm pretty picky when it comes to sound units, having been exposed to Soundtraxx's stuff from the get go, I feel they are the best there is (I haven't head LokSound though). Anyway, how does it sound? Does it even sound like an Alco? I'm tired of all these "generic" diesel sounds that some manufacturers seem to use. I have a P2K F7A that sounds ok, Genesis F7A/B that sound pretty bad (wish I would have checked TO first) and I have some Atlas SD26's that I havent listened to in a while.... When I still lived at home, my dad had a P2K GP9 that didnt sound remotely anything like a GP9 (and I was working on/around/with GP9's then so I should know)..... If you like it just because it has sound, please make that known when you reply, so I know what I'm dealing with. Thanks.

Whats the point of sound if it's not going to sound like it's supposed to, eh?

I have two of them, and I feel that it does sound like an Alco. It is totally correct, I don't know, but it does sound "correct" to me.

I would avoid the sound in this case.

I think it sounds great at idle, but at speed the decoder sounds like a vaccuum cleaner.
