Model Railroading > Sunrise Signals Done for?

I knew there were some issues but saw this posted at a Yahoo Group:


"Sunrise is done for. The owner was in a car wreck with his wife, and they are
not healing very quickly."

That is very sad. Whoever posted that could have used a
better choice of words. I fear the debilitating car wreck.
I can all happen so quickly - one second life is good, then
next its all taken away. My heart goes out to them even
though I know not who they are.

Was this car wreck recent? I received an email from them about a month ago & it sounded like they would still maintain most current products. Either way, my hopes that he & his wife recover quickly!

I'm hoping that they will be alright but wanted to squelch any misinformation.

The information about the car wreck seems out of date as that happened many years ago. Of course, another incident may have transpired, but I myself have not heard anything regarding this.

Either way, I have not seen any "restock" of Sunrise parts of any sort to any of my local shops here for at least a year now.

I do know that some others have received mail from the owner of Sunrise recently, so it seems that they are about. I just have heard essentially the same news from different people that were once close with Sunrise Enterprises about the status of their business (that it is out of business or nonresponsive).

Either way, I wish Dan and Jan well, regardless.

Their website above has not been updated for nearly a year now.

I received one response from Dan, about 6 months ago and then nothing as to a following up( I tried emailing and calling several times)..According to several retailers who know him one on one, they also have had inquiries ignored...Too bad, Dan and Jan offer some fantastic products:(

I work with their son and this is news to me. I will see if I can find out anything.
