"A Young Boy's Excitement" ...
Author: KeyRouteKen

A passing SP freight train is held by the tower operator as an SP P-4 class 'Pacific' makes its way from the Roundhouse across the bridge to the mainline ...

A young boy of about 4-years of age has taken up a vantage point under the bridge to watch the Live Steam trains pass in review...

The railing in the foreground encircled one side of the basement of the late Vic Shattock's house in Oakland, CA to help keep spectators away from the roadbed. In later years it was removed because it was a nuisance and a duck-under.

"Vic Shattock" watches as his beautiful creation gets ready to perform for the many visitors he always seemed to have.

This photo was taken, circa 1950....

Oh Yes-- that young boy in the photo ???

You guessed it--- the famous "Key Route Ken" <g> ..

Note**--
As I have briefly mentioned in the past, this was the man who, at 59 years of age, took in a 'baby' from a broken home (I was 18 months) and raised me as his own Son for the first 14 years of my life and exposed me to this Hobby.

"Trains and Love" can be as one !!
